OpenStudy (lovelycharm):

Given the parent functions f(x) = 3x + 2 and g(x) = 5x − 10, what is g(x) − f(x)?

OpenStudy (firekat97):

you have been given the expressions for g(x) and f(x) respectively, so when you're asked to solve f(x) - g(x), you simply sub those expressions in, to get (5x - 10) - (3x + 2)

OpenStudy (firekat97):

sorry g(x) - f(x) not f(x) - g(x) ***

OpenStudy (firekat97):

does that make sense @lovelycharm ?

OpenStudy (firekat97):

and now we can simplify by collecting like terms, so have a go at that and post up what you get :)
