OpenStudy (rushwr):

Meiosis is needed in sexual production

OpenStudy (rushwr):

if it was mitosis the mother cell will produce 2 identical daughter nuclei which is just like the bother nuclei.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Significance of meiosis is genetic variation. Non of us are identical. in fact we are totally different . That happens during independent segregation and crossing over during meiosis. In mitosis those don't occur.SO no genetic variation.
