Xavier should not vote because he believes his ideas will win even if he doesn’t participate.

Well, laws are made at all levels, local, state, and national, so that is not it.

It is a mistake to rely on others to vote for your ideas.

Mindless voting is not a form of patriotism.

Local lawmakers can have a substantial effect on your life, and are more likely to be knowledgeable and sympathetic to your concerns as someone who lives in the same area than a state or national lawmaker who make have little in common with you.
