How do you calculate the average velocity for a complete time of a graph from a time-position graph

|dw:1444359525839:dw|you see where the graph just goes flat we can see that to the left on the y axis which is position we find that the person or whatever is moving isn't going anywhere. even though it's not in motion it still needs to be included in the overall journey and affects the average velocity. so we have to add the distance traveled which would be all the lengths that correlate with slopes on the graph (not including lengths where they were stationary) and then divide by the total time which includes the lengths of time where there was no movement as well.
