OpenStudy (darrenmadx):

In both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, how many copies of the chromosome are left after replication? A. 1 B. 2 C. 3 D. 4

OpenStudy (darrenmadx):

Hey @Rushwr can you help me. i think the answer is D but im not sure

OpenStudy (rushwr):

It's a bit unclear right? Cuz chromosomes never replicate it is DNA that replicates. Anyways is this during mitosis or meiosis ?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

If it is during mitosis then it is B unless it is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B.

OpenStudy (darrenmadx):

can you at least explain why its B?

OpenStudy (darrenmadx):

Hey @Shikamaru11 do you think you could help out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mitosis creates a duplicate with the same number of chromosomes

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Eukaryotes includes plant cells too right? so in plant cells unless if it is a seed bearing plant other plants in general go through mitosis. So mitosis results in 2 identical daughter nuclei from one mother nucleus. SO the answer would be 2

OpenStudy (shikamaru11):

well if it's mitosis then B

OpenStudy (darrenmadx):

thanks everyone

OpenStudy (shikamaru11):

but It depends on the species of animal you are referring to. :) no prob. dude ;)

OpenStudy (rushwr):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (rushwr):

@Shikamaru11 Any thoughts /
