Pre-calculus question
h(x)= (x+5)^2
Is that correct? @Nnesha ^^
`f(x−h)` here h is horizontal shift `f(x) + k` here k is vertical shift y=a(x-h)^2+k if h is negative graph will shift h unit to the right if h is positive graph will shift h unit to the left if k is positive graph shift k unit p if k is negative some unit down now look at the graph is it going up down left or right ?
|dw:1444354606202:dw|btw this is the parent function :=)
It's going left
right so h should be negative or positive ?
It ends up being (x-(-5)^2 though which makes it positive (x+5)^2
Negative
right but the short cut is if its going left then sign should be positive and if it's going right then h should be negative (opposite ) and bec it's horizontal shift so number should inside the parentheses :=)
(x+5)^2 So this is the answer? @Nnesha
right going left so `h` should be positive and h is horizontal shift should be inside the parentheses \[\rm y= a(x-\color{reD}{h})^2+k\] :=)
Ok thanks!!!
