distribute the two binomials first. (2x+1)(x-1) AND YOU'LL GET 2x^2-2x+x-1 which is 2x^2-x-1 after combining like terms 2x^2-x-1=14 subtract 14 both side and you'll get 2x^2-x-15=0 factor the function, solve for x and there are your answers. hope this help...
