If the cambium of a plant never gets bigger than how can the plant still grow in horizontal size without breaking the cambium?

cambium is a group of unspecialised cells which multiple by dividing so yes the cambium would stay the same shape and size but it produces copies of itself by a process called mitosis and thats why a plant is able to grow
