can someone help me again cx? simplify: a(x+y)-a(x-y) (a) 2ax (b) 2ay (c) ax+ay (d) 2ax-2ay

OpenStudy (mrnood):

you can tkae the factor 'a' out of each term and that leaves the following: a[(x+y)-(x-y)] work out the value inside the square brackets first....

OpenStudy (mrnood):

(x+y)-(x-y) what does this work out to be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ughhhh idk :( i don't understand this math

OpenStudy (mrnood):

You never will unless you try (x+y) - (x-y) =?? just be careful about the MINUS sign but work out that expression....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is D

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@suppa_lova do not give direct answers - especially when they are wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it isn't wrong

OpenStudy (mrnood):

yes it is

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@suppa_lova You have not dealt correctly with the minus sign (as I warned above)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you factor in the a at the beginning of each
