the british taxed goods such as tea in order to pay for government in the colonies. why would americans protest the tea act?
a. americans did not want to pay taxes for anything
b. americans wanted to buy tea grown in the colonies
c. americans did not want to be taxed by those they did not elect
d. the colonies wanted to join togetherand form their own country
