6x+24 = 4x-3 +3 +3 we can add 3 to both sides subtract 6x from both sides 6x+24 = 4x -6x -6x 27 = -2x -2 -2 x = -13.5 check plug back x 6(-13.5)+24 = -57 4(-13.5)-3 = -57
