HELP, WILL FAN & MEDAL: Explain why melting point is classified as a physical property?

OpenStudy (photon336):

@Angeleyes108 there is one major reason: when you undergo a chemical change, chemical bonds are broken and reformed and the result is another compound. But when we melt, boil, or freeze something, in this case let's say we melt an ice cube of water, water goes from solid, to liquid water, but it's still water though, it doesn't become another compound. so essentially, that's what a physical change is.

Ok I get it. Thank you so much!
