OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got a table in this lesson with 3 valules (0,2) (1,-1) and (2, -6). How do I find the average rate of change from x=0 to x=2?

Nnesha (nnesha):

average rate of change = slope formula to find slope is \[\huge\rm \frac{ y_2 -y_1 }{ x_2 -x_1 }\] plugin x and y values when x =0 y = ? when x=2 y = ?

I have 3 points on in the table they gave me... Which are those above. Which ones do I use?

Nnesha (nnesha):

` from x=0 to x=2` use the order where x = 0 and x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the (0,2) and (2,-6)?

Nnesha (nnesha):

pair***

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right :=)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y2-y1 _____ x2-x1 -1-2 ____ 2-0 1 _ 2 = 0.5?
