List the four major macromolecules and their building blocks including what elements make up each one. How is each used by an organism?

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

the four major marcomolecules are lipids, carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acid. lipids are made up of glycerol molecules which contain 3 fatty acids, carbohydrates are made up of sugars called monosacharides, proteins are made up of amino acids and nucleic acid is made up of 4 nucleotides (cytoseine, guanine, thymine and adenine) lipids are used as an energy store and also for cell membranes as cholesterol, proteins are used as enzymes in processes like digestion (e.g protease), carbohydrates are used as energy by turning it into glucose and finally nucleic acid is used in dna for carrying genes sorry its such a long paragraph :o
