OpenStudy (anonymous):

integer is a positive or negative whole number

Directrix (directrix):

Why did no one choose "rational" as the answer. It appears that there is a lot of guessing going on here. The guessing indicates a lack of understanding of the "number family." I'll try to find the "number family" graphic and post it before another OP gets an answer wrong. I recommend that the OP ask "How do you know" before accepting direct answers. Those direct answers are a violation of the OpenStudy Code of Conduct.

imqwerty (imqwerty):

rational is the answer :)

Directrix (directrix):

If so, how did this happen: >>i got never mind i got it wrong so @imqwerty

imqwerty (imqwerty):

take any integer say n it can be either positive or negative we can write it as n/1 and this is applicable to all integers and n/1 is a rational number format where n and 1 are relatively prime :) so we can clearly see that every integer is a rational number (:

Number Family Graphic attached. May be of help for some.
