Please help! I don't understand?

The youth group is going on a trip to the state fair. The trip costs $58. Included in that price is $12 for a concert ticket and the cost of 2 passes, one for the rides and one for the game booths. Each of the passes costs the same price. Write an equation representing the cost of the trip, and determine the price of one pass. Solve your equation by showing your work and steps.

One trip is 58 dollars. That 58 dollars is the cost of one concert tickets ($12) and two passes, each of which costs x. So

58=12+2x
46=2x
23=x


So per each trip, you pay 58 dollars. 12 of those dollars is to go to a concert on the trip, 23 dollars is to go on rides, and 23 dollars is to play at the game booths. Make sense? :)
