Julie is digging a square area in her backyard for a vegetable garden. If the area is 52 square feet, what is the approximate length of one side of her garden? 6 square feet 7 square feet 8 square feet 9 square feet

Medal and fan !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well Area of a Square is A = a^2 so you can plug 52 in for A and take the square root

OpenStudy (mrnood):

none of the answers are correct - the length cannot be measured in square feet - length is measured in feet.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

however - if the length were 6 feet thene the are would be 6 * 6 (6^2) sq feet = 36 sq ft do the same with the other answers - and find the nearest to 52 sq feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I will thanks for the help everyone ! (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I ended up guessing 7 feet and got that ended up being the answer ! lamo @MrNood @Lily2913

OpenStudy (mrnood):

why did you guess? if you did what I suggested you would have KNOWN that 7 was correct

OpenStudy (jebonna):

Basically all you had to do was square root 52 and round it to the nearest whole number and thats your answer :)
