On an activity series chlorine is more active than bromine. What is a balanced chemical equation for the reaction between Chlorine gas and aqueous sodium bromide? I so far laid the problem out like so. Cl2+NaBr--->? I was thinking it could be the following. Cl2+2NaBr--->2NaCl+Br2

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah, definitely. Br will be oxidized by Cl
