OpenStudy (mitchi35):

Step 1: Find 3 three-dimensional figures around your house. These can be anything from a soup can to the shower stall (Be creative!!). You need to pick at least two different shapes (ie, not all rectangular). Step 2: Sketch each figure and label the dimensions (using appropriate units). Step 3: Find the surface area of each figure. Make sure to draw the surfaces of the figure as we learned in this lesson. Show all work and label your answers appropriately. Step 4: Find the volume of each figure. Show all work and label your answers appropriately

OpenStudy (mitchi35):

I have the shapes, I just dont know how to label the dimentions, finding the surface area ,or finding the volume.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

surface area: find the area of all the sides and add them together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume: it depends on the shape, tell me what shapes you have

OpenStudy (mitchi35):

Oh! Okay. one down. The shapes I have are a circle. A square. And a rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, for volume of a rectangular prism: length x width x height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For a cylinder: find the area of the circle on top (only one side) and then multiply it by the hight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope that helps!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

height^

OpenStudy (mitchi35):

OKay. Yeah it does a lot! Thank you. @sarenemun You too @Nnesha :)
