Stephanie can type around 70 words per minute. She has less than a week to type her final research paper. If the paper has to be at least 15 pages long and each page has about 350 words, how many hours should Stephanie set aside to type her assignment? Show your work to receive full credit.

Since the final answer needs to be in hours (how many hours will it take Stephanie to finish her assignment) you need to find out how many words per hour she can type (hint: if she can type 70 words per minute and there 60 minutes in a hour....?)

Next calculate how many words the research paper needs to have (15 pages and 350 words per page)

Then divide the total amount of words in the research paper by the amount of words she can type up in a hour.

350/70 = the number of minutes needed for each page.

then multiply this answer by 15, the minimum number of pages

the change the answer from minutes to hours and minutes

remember, this will be the minimum time needed.. so use an inequality. If the paper is longer than 15 pages, it will take longer...
