Chemical characteristics refer to properties of a substances that determine how (or if) it will undergo a chemical reaction. Physical characteristics refer to properties of a substance that are intrinsic to that substance (e.g. what state it's in, how hard or shiny it is, its mass, etc). Use this information to answer your question!
ok, so for example 1 would me chemical?
Yes!
I'm very new to this subject, you mind walking me through? If not I understand. xP
nvm I'm finished. xD Thank you for the help! :D
Well the first one is chemical because we're talking directly about a chemical property of sodium. It says "reactive" in the statement so already that's a clue. The next one says oxygen is a gas. So we're talking about the phase (or state) the sample of oxygen is in. This is a physical characteristic and doesn't directly tell us anything about its chemistry. Does that makes sense? Keep trying the others and let me know if you have any questions!
Oh ok no problem!
