The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is a trade union that protects and represents teachers and educators in America. It has over one million members and has many offices throughout the country. Some famous people have been a part of the AFT. These people include Albert Einstein, John Dewey, and Elie Wiesel. Trade unions can be very powerful because of their collective voice. (Create a paragraph listing similarities and differences between the AFT and medieval guilds… think of size, scope, involvement in politics, geographic location, etc.)
