When they start their homework assignments, Katy has already solved 3 problems in study hall and Timmy has already solved 8. a) Write two expressions, one each for the number of equations Katy and Timmy will have solved. b) How many equations has each solved in 30 minutes? c) How long will it take until each has solved the same number? How many equations is this? d) There are 27 equations to be solved all together. Who finishes first? Show your work.
