In this problem you have to divide the actual numbers like you normally would So 8/2 is 4 and 14/2 is 7 After that you have to subtract the variables from each other So y^2 -y is just y A Since there is no x variable to subtract by you just leave it as is Then you put the equation together to get 4xy-7y
