Okay, this is getting a little complicated. Either I didn't pay attention in class(Which is unlikely ._.) Or, my teacher didn't explain this right! I just don't understand it >.> x^5/x^10 I have to write the quotient as one power. Not quite understanding what that actually means.

im guessing it means to write is as one thing. The rule of indices is that when it has the same base (in this case x) and it is multiplying the powers can be added. Whereas if it has the same base but dividing, then the powers can be minus.

so here x^5/x^10 would be x^-5 because you do 5-10 as its dividing
