2. Which one of the following sentences uses the comma or commas correctly? A. Frieda packed her suitcase with clothing, accessories and paperback books. B. Johnson is my attorney, he finally broke the silence. C. Patrick, the star player, is the only freshman on the team. D. Giving it their best none of the swimmers broke, John Gore’s, record.
Before I give any feedback, which one do you think it is?
i would think B
Hmm. So, sentences can be joined together. You can join these two: I want a dog. I got it yesterday. But, you have to combine it with a comma and then a conjunction, or the words and, or, but, and so. EX: I want a dog, and I got it yesterday. However, B is combined with a comma, but it is missing a conjunction. Therefor, B cannot be the answer. Which one has two sentences combined using a conjunction and a comma?
The answer is A
Well, A is missing a comma. It should be: Frieda packed her suitcase with clothing, accessories[,] and paperback books.
Besides, you aren't supposed to directly state answers here.
B is not right because a comma separates two complete thoughts. And a good tip to check is by flipping the sentences after and before comma and see if it makes sense and B doesn't.
I gave my support and u did the same exact-_-
