The x intercept of a line is -5 and the y-intercept of the line is -2. What is the equation of the line?

Nnesha (nnesha):

x-intercept is a point when line intersect x-axis when y = 0 and y-intercept is a point when line intersect y-axis when x=0 so that will give you 2 order pair x= -5 when y=0 y=-2 when x=0 use the slope formula to find slope

Nnesha (nnesha):

(-5,0)(0,2) and pooja will give you the slope formula gtg :=)

pooja195 (pooja195):

\[\LARGE \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=slope\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, the slope would be 2/5x+2?

OpenStudy (phi):

you have two points (-5,0) and (0,-2) what is the change in y ? i.e. what is -2 -0 ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

my bad (0,-2)***
