MsBrains (ms-brains):

@chris00 Help please?

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Difference is subtraction. Which one shows subtraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd say B. Difference means subtraction, as you may know, and x (being the number that 2 is taken away from) would come first... Not 2x or any + signs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes x-6 because - is showing difference and every sign has a different term i will post one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets re-phrase this question. what would the difference between 5 and 2 be? that is simply another way of saying 5-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would be 3 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about 4-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because you just trying to find 2 not 2x Ps that wouldn't work because x could equal anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see what i am doing. I'm just changing the first term to be any number i want but i always subtract two from it. so lets call this any old number a variable which signifies any number you want, say 'x' all we do is substitute x into the first term and it becomes x-2

MsBrains (ms-brains):

The answer is x-2..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its B because you can eliminate A and C because there addition and difference is referred to as subtraction and D would not work because you trying to find 2 not 2x and in this equation x could equal anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Ok. Next tone is..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2n+3

MsBrains (ms-brains):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

twice the number which the term n=number and twice would be 2n sum=+ and 3=3

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Is it 2(n+3) or 2n+3...??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+5 and ask if u want me to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the last its 2n+3

MsBrains (ms-brains):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no parenthesis because that means you have to distribute to both numbers not 1

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Oh. okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D

MsBrains (ms-brains):

last one..

MsBrains (ms-brains):

@Sohal you there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I'm thinking give me a sec

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Alright. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its A

MsBrains (ms-brains):

The last one was Incorrect... But thank you for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait plz tell me the answer because i was a little confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be D most likely D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I'm not sure, it's this study guide on my school website that asks you questions to study for the real tests. It just said the problem was incorrect. it didn't give the right answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol i know its D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it now

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Dammit. I wish you firgured it out sooner. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im so sorry but should I explain how I got it :(

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Nah, it's okay. I gotta go. See ya Sohal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
