eukaryotic has a nucleus which is the most important distinction. if it helps just remember that nucleus has the letters EU, thus nuclEUs. prokaryotic does not have a nucleus.

furthermore, prokaryotic cells can be things like bacteria, blue/green algae and its DNA is not separate while eukaryotic cells are things like organisms, and have a defined structure. eukaryotic cells have things like the mitochondria and the ribosome.
