Absolute value is how many spaces a number is from 0. (t's basically the positive representative of the given number) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The solution set is the set of numbers where the answer/variable would make sense Example: l -x l + 10 = 16, subtract 10 from each side, you get l -x l = 6. The solution set is 6 or negative 6 because replace x with either of those numbers and your equation makes sense. Replace x with any other number and your equation is... not good. :)
