What is the reciprocal of 5? \frac{1}{5} \frac{5}{1} 5 −5
yeah its -5
reciprocal: just flip the fraction reciprocal of a/b would b/a sign would stay the same DON'T change the sign
basically with reciprecals your just flipping it
here is an example reciprocal of 2 (which is same as 2/1 would be 1/2
The reciprocal, or multiplicative inverse, will yield a product of 1. The reciprocal of 3 is 1/3 because 3*(1/3) = 1 and the reciprocal of 8 is 1/8 by the same reasoning. Fractions can be done the same way. Just divide 1 by the fraction. The reciprocal of 0.5 can be thought of as 1/(0.5) which is 2. 2*(0.5)=1. 2 and 0.5 (or 1/2) are reciprocals! :)
why not just post the link eh ?
Yeah
just flip the fraction...and if you have a whole number, such as 5....which is the same as 5/1...flip it...and you get 1/5 (the reciprocal)
