Can someone help me find the area of this trapezoid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i assume the height is 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i forget the formula, but u can use pythagoras

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah the height is 7

The formula they gave us is A = 1/2 h (b1+b2) But im missing the second base and i dont know what to do lol

OpenStudy (ltrout):

The area would be 62.54. If you see, the top base is 7, the height is 7 and then use pythagoream theorem to find out the remaining length (3.87) for the bottom base, and use the trapezoid area to get the final answer. So the bottom leg is (3.87) + (7) = 10.87, the height is 7, and the top leg is 7 :)

Thank you! it makes sense now

Anytime :)
