I can try! what do you need help with?
OpenStudy (peace420):
In the Kite Club, there are a total of 23 kids. There are 7 more girls than boys. Write two equations and graph to find the number of girls in the club.
8 girls
18 girls
6 girls
15 girls
OpenStudy (misty1212):
we can do this by guessing
OpenStudy (ltrout):
The answer is 15 girls.
OpenStudy (misty1212):
16 and 7 give 23, but 16 is not 7 more than 7
try 15 and 8

23-15 = 8 boys. And 8 boys + 7 = 15 girls :)
OpenStudy (misty1212):
\[15+8=23\\
15-8=7\]so 15girls 8 boys
OpenStudy (jango_in_dtown):
Suppose the number of boys is x, Then the number of girls by the given question is 7+x
hence x+(7+x)=23 implies 2x=16 implies x=8 implies 7+x=15
hence the number of girls is 15
OpenStudy (peace420):
both of your explanations totally fit thank you @misty1212 @itrout

:)
OpenStudy (ltrout):
Sure @Peace420 !
OpenStudy (peace420):
Three times x is 13 less than y. The sum of x and two times y is 12. Write two equations and graph to find the value of y.
y = -2
y = 2
y = -7
y = 7
OpenStudy (ltrout):
y = 3x + 13 and y= 1/2x + 6 would be the two equations. And I'm confused about "graph to find the value of y"?
