An automobile with 0.260m radius tires travels 80,000km before wearing them out. How many revolutions do the tires make, neglecting any backing up and any change in radius due to wear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If a tire has a radius of 0.260 meters... how many meters will the tire travel if it rotates once?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.520m ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the tire makes 1 rotation, the amount of distance it travels in that one rotation is exactly the circumference.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

If I call with \(R\) the radius of a wheel, and with \(N\) the requested revolutions, then I can write this: \[2\pi RN = S\] where \(S=8 \cdot 10^7\) meters
