how do you rewrite an expression without using negative exponent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take the reciprocal. For example\[2^{-3} = \frac{ 1 }{ 2^3 }\]

thank you, then we multiply 2 three times right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right.\[2^{-3} = \frac{ 1 }{ 2^3 } = \frac{ 1 }{ 2\times2\times2 } = \frac{ 1 }{ 8 }\]
