solve 2x - y = y for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x - y = y -> 2x = y+y -> 2x = 2y then divide out the 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats how far I gotten, but my options are a. 2y - 2 b. y - 2 c. y d. 0 so would it be D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x * 1/2 = 2y * 1/2 -> x=y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you are only dividing out the 2 not the y variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I understand now.. Thanks!
