1. = Eli Whitney is famous for patenting the invention of the cotton gin. 2. = New England had many rushing river's and streams. These provided the water power necessary to run the machinery in the New England factories. new England's geographic location also proved to be an advantage. It was close to others resources, including coal and iron from nearby Pennsylvania. New England also had many ports. through these ports passed the cotton shipped from southern states to new England factories. 3. =developing a merchant marine to promote water transport

4. = Western crops would be able to be floated east through the great lakes into the canaland down the Hudson river to New York city. The Erie Canal provided the greatest connection between tge east coast and settlements near the Great lakes 5. = The telegraph was the first from of communication that could be sent from a great distance and was a landmark in human history. For the first time man could communicate with another from a great distance changing everything from how wars were fought to how people dated and fell in love. It’s creation, along with the steam engine, was one of the key inventions to the industrial age. Letters took hours, day, and even months to arrive at their destination making most information irrelevant. However, with the advent of the telegraph, messages were transmitted instantaneously, and as it became ever more efficient the telegraph was able to relay more complex messages farther and farther till it connected people from around the world by pressing a few buttons. 6. = In the 1824 Presidential election, Andrew Jackson had the most electoral votes but did not have the majority. Therefore, the vote was decided in the House of Representatives and John Quincy Adams was elected President. 7. = His main draw was he was a war hero He took on the same troops and field commanders that help defeat Napoleon and gave them a blood bath in New Orleans in the war of 1812 this shocked the British,he bore a scare given him by a british officer when he refused to shine his boots his older brother fought in the war of 1776.My favourite story about him is when he gave the British permission to remove their dead he stood on a wall smoking a cigar and when any Brit got within ear shoot he would say ''we last 18''
