The truths we hold to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that all man have the right to choose who or what they believe, and these rights are given at birth and one fills in the blanks as he learns and some of these rights are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (property). To gain these rights governments are formed and when any government tries to destroy these rights it is the right of the people to end that form of government and start a new one that will protect their life and happiness (property) to give them safety and happiness. In the U.S. Constitution that was written in 1787 The Bill of Rights was added (the first 10 amendments to the constitution) which lists all of the rights that each person has as a citizen of the United States. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence
