diana is right but joby is not both diana and joby are correct neither diana or joby are correct joby is correct but diana is not

Diana's proof does not mention vertical angles. Joby assumes that vertical angles are congruent which is what he is supposed to be proving. You don't assume what you are trying to prove. If you already knew it is true, you wouldn't be proving it.
