B. A mixture is made up of more than one type of atom; a pure substance is made up of only one type of atom. C. A mixture is made up of only one type of atom; a pure substance is made up of more than one type of atom. D. A mixture has different properties throughout; a pure substance has the same properties throughout

I would go with answer D D) A mixture has different properties throughout, a pure substance has the same properties throughout

OpenStudy (jebonna):

I think it is B, because a pure substance is something that is made from only one atom like graphite or diamond (only made of carbon), whereas a mixture has two or more different atoms in it.
