Body Fossils: Body fossils normally consist of skeletonized parts.
Body fossils are the preserved remains of an animal or plant.

Trace fossils: are often found preserved in sediment rock.
Trace fossils are the preserved activity left behind by animals. Example of a trace fossil is a footpint.

Chemical Fossils: Chemical fossils are the preserved compounds.
The decay of plants and animals includes a series of processes leaving traces commonly found in rock.
