OpenStudy (calculusxy):

a moment when you will use the division property of equality is like this: \[\huge \rm \color{purple}{2x = 4}\] since you want to find out the value of x, you need to divide both sides by 2 to isolate x and thne find out the value of x \(\[\large \rm \color{blue} {\frac{ 2x }{ 2 } = \frac{ 4 }{ 2 }}\]

OpenStudy (breyliance):

what?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

wait...

OpenStudy (breyliance):

all i need is a answer

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

\[\huge \rm \color{blue}{\frac{ 2x }{ 2 } = \frac{ 4 }{ 2 }}\]

OpenStudy (breyliance):

uhhhh ok?

OpenStudy (danjs):

something like \[\large a*\frac{ d }{ a } = b * a\]

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

sorry but according to the Openstudy C.o.C direct answers are not possibly given out. (however, some people decide not to follow this code of conduct.)

OpenStudy (breyliance):

ok well is there a way to help explain in a 2 year olds english what the answer is?

OpenStudy (danjs):

multiplication and division are the same, if you have a fraction x / 2 = 3 to isolate x, you can multiply both sides of that thing by 2

OpenStudy (breyliance):

ohhhhhhhhho ok i guess i get it thank you

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }*x = 20\] see if you multiply by 4, you get 4/4 on the side, which =1, and you have only x

OpenStudy (breyliance):

ohhh ok thank you very much

OpenStudy (danjs):

not sure which way the division property goes, look up the definition, if you start with 2x = 3 then divide by 2, you get (2/2)* x = 3/2

OpenStudy (danjs):

tha tis probably the way they want
