HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLP Which property is shown? (8 + 1) + 9 = 8 + (1 + 9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Commutative Property is the one that refers to moving stuff around. For addition, the rule is "a + b = b + a";

Directrix (directrix):

The Commutative Prop of Addition has to do with order. In the problem, the three integers are in the same order on both sides of the equation. 8, 1, 9 and 8, 1, 9

Directrix (directrix):

The Associative Property of Addition has to do with grouping. In the posted problem, (8 + 1) + 9, the 8 and 1 were grouped together. On the right side of the equation, 8 + (1 + 9), the 1 and the 9 are grouped. Take a look at the attached chart. @jinxhead20
