OpenStudy (hba):

Why don't you use a front-end framework like bootstrap or webflow? They are really helpful and you build responsive web apps rather than fixed one so it works on all screen sizes.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

what are they?

OpenStudy (hba):

So you don't have to worry about css or html

OpenStudy (hba):

Frameworks

OpenStudy (hba):

So they are used to develop the front end of a webpage Then if it's a static website that's all what matters but a dynamic website is one in which there is a back-end database.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

yea i just want to create a website. i am a beginner and need someone to help me

OpenStudy (hba):

Well first of all you need to decide on what platform do you want to build your website,So it can be .net mvc if you want .-. MVA has some great tutorials.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

.com

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

whats mva?

OpenStudy (hba):

Microsoft virtual academy

OpenStudy (hba):

What do you mean by .com? 0_0

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

oh they teach you to?

OpenStudy (hba):

.net is an architecture

OpenStudy (hba):

Yes because you really need to learn the magic

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

yea so where do i start? i want to be a developer, website creator,pc fixer lol

OpenStudy (hba):

You just literally go to the Microsoft virtual academy website and start watching the videos

OpenStudy (hba):

for MVC 4 web apps

OpenStudy (hba):

Install Visual Studio 2015 community version,It's free of cost.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

is that needed?

OpenStudy (hba):

Yes

OpenStudy (hba):

go to asp.net

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

ok downloading it. what is it btw

OpenStudy (hba):

It's a tool in which you code

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

does it teach you to?

OpenStudy (hba):

No you'll have to go to MVA and search for a tutorial for .NET MVC

OpenStudy (hba):

You're confused now but you'll eventually get it.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

i am so confused now D: Ok i just want to know some basics on website building css like how to add pics to back ground and stuff and learn php and java

OpenStudy (woodrow73):

You mentioned a lot of languages. Besides for online tutorials, you can try more formal paid environments like udemy (if you choose this route and want to save money, wait for a $10-$25 course deal code). As for how to perform specific functions.. I'd get in the habit of googling/duckduckgo-ing syntax examples. And if you still have trouble, this website is a good place to get help. As for adding pics to the background, the css property background-image is probably what you're looking for: http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_background-image.asp And I found a thread regarding how to get the background-image to not repeat, which seems like you'd have to get creative and change the picture's size or something: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15080642/how-do-i-get-the-background-image-to-not-repeat-and-take-up-the-entire-section

You might be best off asking specific questions here/search engines as they arise. Good luck to you.
