Denis Diderot was a philosopher of the Enlightenment era, and played a big role in the movement. his work impacted society greatly, one of his biggest impacts was the the Encyclopedia. This was a powerful weapon against ecclesiastical and governmental institutions that his time faced. Diderot was a man who believed all should be free, he expressed these believes quite freely and changed many peoples opinions on the matter, this had a big role in the revolution and freedom being granted to the slaves. His work not only helped greatly in his time, in fact many of his workings can still be seen being influenced in society later on. such as; It inspired the French Revolution and the American Revolution both of those revolutions play a big part in out history and without them society would be nothing like it is now. the second reason; Diderot even ushered in Europe’s modern era by presenting scattered knowledge of divine rights, reasoning, and toleration, without his work nothing would be the same. And this is why Denis Diderot will always be remembered as one of the great philosophers of the Age of Reason.
