OpenStudy (narissa):

the product of 5 and a number is decreased by 3

OpenStudy (yoloshroom):

5x-3 :)

OpenStudy (photon336):

that would be 5n-3

OpenStudy (narissa):

i think its 5/x-3

OpenStudy (yoloshroom):

Product means, multiplication, "a number" is a variable, and decreased by 3 means you subtract 3 from it, so 5x-3

OpenStudy (photon336):

remember product of a number and 5 means 5 times the number what you've written is division

OpenStudy (photon336):

@narissa

OpenStudy (narissa):

ok thanks u i was confused for a minute

OpenStudy (photon336):

yeah what you've written was division so just remember what the terms mean addition is sum, increased by, while subtraction would be decreased etc..
