Compound Inequality question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A student scored 83 and 91 on her first two quizzes. Write and solve a compound inequality to find hte possible values for a third quiz score that would give her an average between 85 and 90, inclusive.

OpenStudy (jango_in_dtown):

Let 3x be the possible value in the third quiz. Then average value of the 3 quiz= (83+91+3x)/3=58+x by the given condition 85<58+x<90 gives 27<x<32 and so 81<3x<96 now suppose 3x=y then we have 81<y<96 where y is the possible value in the third quiz

OpenStudy (jango_in_dtown):

since you said inclusive, replace the less than sign by less or equal to
