y + 10 - 2(y - 14) > 0 gives y+10-2y+28>0 gives -y>-38 gives y<38

y + 10 - 2(y - 14) > 0 --- distribute through the parenthesis y + 10 - 2y + 28 > 0 -y + 38 > 0 -- add y to both sides 38 > y....or y < 38
