I will give medal to best answer! Please help me figure out these word problems... 5. You are making your weekly meal plans and are working with the following constraints: It costs $8 to go out to dinner. It costs $5 to go out to lunch. You want to go out to dinner at least as many times as you go out to lunch. You can spend at most 42$. What is the greatest number of meals you can eat out? A. 3 B. 4 C. 5 D. 6 I will post the other question after this one is answered...

OpenStudy (dinorap1):

So far, I came up with two constraints out of this equation: d>=L and 8d+5L<=42 Buut I have no idea how to figure out the maximum amount of meals... I'm stumped... :/

OpenStudy (dinorap1):

I think it's 6 because when you make the solution (3,3) it makes all the inequalities true, and (3,3) adds up to 6 meals...

OpenStudy (dinorap1):

Yeah, I think 6 is definitely the correct answer. (4,2) yields $42, and it satisfies both constraints. I'll just close this and open up another question now...
