examples are primarily to emphasize what the main point is about, to convince us is just a secondary function just like when someone said something, we tend to ask WHAT DO YOU MEAN, rather than agreeing or disagreeing because the person might have used terminologies that are not familiar or are used in different manner that we are used to.
